Cut-Rate

Every transaction that I've ever made
Was a bargain, discount, or favorable trade
I never have, never will pay full price
I take what I can, as it's mine by rights
I steer, commandeer the chains of my fate.
I live my life by the laws of cut-rate
I look around me at all the deals that I've found
and I'm safe in the knowledge that each exchange was sound
Never a waste of effort, never a wasted dime
I refuse anything that seems a waste of time
I will admit, but only if pressed
That there is one idea that leaves me quite stressed
That perhaps the reason I only seek sales
that I always haggle and never fail.
Is that the thing I own discounted most of all
Is my soul and the fact that my tears never fall.
